Me in three - Congenial | Dependable | Accommodating

Where I grew up  - I grew up in the Scottish cities of Aberdeen and Glasgow but also spent some time in Carlisle near the border between Scotland and England.

My favourite tour - I really enjoy the journey around Scotland's north coast. Today it's dubbed the North Coast 500 and is quite unlike anywhere else in the world. The old cattle pass called the 'Bealach na Baa' is a joy to visit every time. Taking the ferry across the Pentland Firth to Orkney for a couple of days is a must. I also love visiting Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides which we visit in the 9 Day Highlands & Islands tour.

What I drink amongst friends - I like a whisky. My favourites are Bunnahabhain from Islay, Highland Park from Orkney and Glenfarclas from the heart of Speyside... depending on my mood!

When I'm not touring with guests  - The villages of Portsoy and Cullen are favourite places of mine (I like my soup and Cullen Skink is one of Scotland's most famous dishes; a hearty soup that is traditionally made with smoked haddock). If I fancy a treat I'll head out to the traditional fishing village of Pittenweem for some first class Fish and Chips or to Ullapool for the sunset. My sporting passion is football and I enjoy a visit to Hampden Park (our national football stadium) when we are WINNING!

What people say...
"We decided to use a tour group to visit Scotland to avoid the issue of driving on the opposite side of the road, roundabouts, etc, plus we also wanted a guide to not only take us places but also to explain what we were seeing. After doing our research and reading reviews we chose Best Scottish Tours and we were nothing but thrilled with our choice. Bookings and making our trip arrangements were easy and with great communication. We were met at Edinburgh Waverley station by our driver/guide Scott, who as a retired history and political teacher was perfect for our interests in the history of Scotland. We had a great time during our 5 day tour; the hotels were very comfortable and the restaurants were excellent, serving wonderful local Scottish fare. Scott was able to tailor our journey to our specific interests, and took extra care to research any questions we had that he did not readily have the answer to (which weren't many!). We greatly appreciated the last minute detour to reach Rosslyn Chapel before it closed! During our longer drives between sites we had great conversations about current affairs and cultural differences as well. I could not imagine a better guide -- extremely informative and truly loves sharing his wonderful country with others! I would highly recommend Best Scottish Tours for anyone looking for a stress-free, informative journey thru beautiful Scotland!"Stephen F, Lewes, Delaware
