This 7 day journey is an incredible introduction to Scotland with the addition of one of the great train journeys of the world. Explore and experience the many different aspects that Scotland has to offer; the fabulous scenery of our National Parks and enchanting Glencoe, beautiful Loch Lomond and Loch Ness, the charming traditional communities of Inveraray, Pitlochry and Fort Augustus, historic Culloden Battlefield and Eilean Donan Castle and the vibrant centres of Inverness, Stirling and Edinburgh.

Day 1 is a fabulous introduction to the Scottish landscape, exploring the mountains, glens and lochs of Scotland’s first National Park and the beautiful lochside village of Inveraray with its famous castle. The journey north takes us through the stunning scenery of Glencoe. Overnight Glencoe
Day 2 takes us aboard the Jacobite steam train, now famous as the Harry Potter “Hogwarts Express”, which forms part of the West Highland Railway intended to help open up this remote part of the Scottish coast. After a lovely lunch in Mallaig we take the ferry “Over the Sea to Skye” and visit iconic Eilean Donan Castle. Overnight nr Skye
Day 3 is a tour of the Isle of Skye, passing through Broadford and the Cuillin Mountains to the main settlement on the Island, Portree, with colourful houses and traditional harbour. Later, we head north to admire the scenery and views at the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock Falls. Overnight nr Skye
Day 4 begins with a scenic trip over the “Bealach Na Ba” to the remote Applecross Peninsula; a beautiful and tranquil place on the rugged coast of Wester Ross with stunning scenery. The area is well known for its spectacular mountain scenery, especially the Torridon Hills. Overnight nr Inverness
Day 5 allows for free time in the beautiful city of Inverness, the "Capital of the Highlands". Later, we head south along iconic Loch Ness with fabulous scenery and picturesque villages along the way. After an enjoyable lunch at Fort Augustus, we make our way to the whisky distillery. Overnight nr Inverness.
Day 6 we visit Culloden Battlefield which will provide a lasting image of Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Jacobite Army before we explore the Cairngorms National Park to visit Carrbridge and enjoy some free time in the Victorian tourist town of Pitlochry. Overnight Pitlochry
Day 7 explores the quaint highland village of Dunkeld before we travel south to Stirling for a tour of Stirling Castle to take in the castle's long and turbulent history. Later, enjoy some free time in Edinburgh with its charming medieval architecture and the opportunity to do some speciality shopping.
